For the general market, the most attractive feature is the stand-alone character of the major sections of the book. The material is well written and the coverage is thorough.Review questions have been well chosen, and homework problems cover the material well. Example problems are appropriate, applicable, and well conceived. When one is forced to teach such a course in one semester, one has to make choices on what to teach and on what to skip.
